At this year’s BAM! Bock auf Morgen Festival in Berlin, Kaeding Anderson and Wasserwerke Paderborn were honored with the special “Local Heroes” award for their joint communication project “Deine Wasserpartner“. 🎉
We have been supporting the project as a creative and communication partner for over six years – with campaigns, motifs, events, social media, websites, texts, videos, cinema spots and much more. Always with the aim of strengthening the appreciation of water and making the topic of climate protection a regional experience. 💧

Substance instead of buzzwords: effective sustainability communication
With this award, the jury recognized outstanding local initiatives that show that sustainability is not only created in ministries and laboratories, but right on our doorstep.
“You are the role models, the inspiration and the key drivers for the climate protection of tomorrow,” emphasized laudator Sissi Knispel de Acosta (European Climate Research Alliance). In addition to “Deine Wasserpartner”, the Hamburg Future Decision and the Oldenburg campaign “Klima. Do it. Konkret.” were also honored as “Local Heroes”.
“This is so great and strengthens us immensely,” enthuses Daniel Rohring, Managing Director of Wasserwerke Paderborn. “We were awarded here alongside the big players such as Telekom, Vattenfall, dm and recup: A real accolade for us, and we are delighted to receive this award!”
“A great recognition and a real sign of how important communication with attitude is,” says Thorsten Sagner, Managing Director of Kaeding Anderson.

Making an impact on the ground, inspiring people
The award is both a confirmation and an incentive for us: good communication can bring about change.
By reaching people with positive stories and credible examples, we create a willingness to act – and that is precisely the core of sustainable transformation.
“This award means a lot to us – it shows that local communication can drive real change. When people understand how valuable their resources are, it creates awareness – and that creates change.”
– Tobias Heinze, Managing Director Kaeding Anderson

The BAM! festival: The who’s who of sustainability marketing
The BAM! Bock auf Morgen Festival is the largest and most important event for sustainability communication in Germany. For two days, experts from business, science, media, politics and civil society come together to talk about the key issues of our time – from climate protection and the circular economy to social transformation.
Regular speakers include renowned scientists and thought leaders such as Christian Stöcker and Maja Göpel as well as sustainability and marketing managers from leading brands. BAM! is regarded as a meeting place for the “who’s who” in sustainability marketing and has developed into a central platform for exchange, inspiration and networking in recent years.
The Marketing for Future Award is one of the most important prizes for credible sustainability communication in the German-speaking world. It recognizes campaigns and projects that are honest, effective and socially relevant – beyond buzzwords and greenwashing. The jury awards prizes to communication work that shows attitude, tells a bold story and achieves a measurable impact. The award winners and nominees include brands such as dm, Telekom, Vattenfall, recup, EDEKA and Viva con Agua, which consistently integrate sustainability into their brand strategy and visibly put it into practice.
The award is now regarded as one of the most important prizes in the field of sustainable brand and communication strategies in Germany.
Two days full of inspiration, workshops, discussions, networking and impulses – and confirmation for us: We are on the right track. 🌍💚 After Tobias Heinze had already attended the BAM! Festival in 2024, tickets were immediately booked again for 2026.
Thanks to the great BAM! team and to our partners at Wasserwerke Paderborn! We are delighted with the award – and are continuing on the path of sustainability. True to the motto of this year’s BAM! Festival motto: Now more than ever! 💪
