Certificate course successfully completed: Tobias Heinze is a “Certified Corporate Sustainability Manager”

From January to March 2024, Tobias Heinze successfully completed the “Certified Corporate Sustainability Manager” certificate course: a program specifically designed to qualify specialists and managers for the challenges and opportunities in the field of sustainable corporate management. The course, structured in six sessions and just as many modules, offered a comprehensive insight into the complexity of sustainability management in companies and organizations.

In view of the increasing demand for qualified experts in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability, the course aimed to enable participants to take a proactive role in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies. This requires a deep understanding of the “triple bottom line” – the balance between environmental, social and governance issues – and the practical application of strategies to reduce CO2 and support sustainable business transformation.

By participating in live webinars, working with best practices and implementing practical applications, Tobias Heinze learned how to define and implement an effective sustainability strategy. This included topics such as the double materiality analysis, the development of a carbon footprint, the creation of a sustainability report according to the DNK standard, as well as strategic communication in the area of sustainability.

Many thanks to Ulrike Stöckle: she managed to motivate and inspire us participants again and again during the six “jam-packed” course days. You can feel her passion for the environment and sustainability! She was happy to share her wealth of experience with us, which she has built up over many years as one of the “veterans of sustainability communication”.

A central element of the course was an examination of the strategic importance of sustainability. Participants learned how sustainability is anchored and managed in all areas of the company and made measurable through controlling and KPIs. In addition to the practical implementation of sustainability strategies, great importance was attached to skills development. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), “Inner Development Goals” (IDGs) were defined to promote individual skills.

By successfully completing this course, Tobias Heinze has not only deepened his knowledge in the field of sustainability management, but has also qualified as an expert who is able to promote and manage sustainable change in companies.

Six modules were carried out from January to March 2024:

  • Module 1: From materiality analysis to stakeholder dialog.
  • Module 2: Definition of a sustainability strategy.
  • Module 3: Using the carbon footprint to decarbonize the supply chain.
  • Module 4: The sustainability report according to the DNK and ESRS standard.
  • Module 5: Strategic sustainability communication.
  • Module 6: Achieving sustainable growth with the Inner Development Goals.
